Zander Nosler of Kitsbow Mountain Biking Apparel on Staying Passion Driven
Zander Nosler and his business partner Charlie Cronk are self-described “complete nerds” for the intersection of two shared loves: well-designed apparel and mountain biking. Today on The Intrepid Entrepreneur, you’ll hear Zander tell the story of his second startup: Kitsbow mountain biking apparel. Passionate cyclists are beyond type-A when it comes to building and maintaining their bikes, where they ride and whom they ride with. Zander and Charlie more than fit that archetype and they bring their obsessive and driven approach to creating mountain biking’s finest apparel in Kitsbow. Zander calls Kitsbow’s lifer’s The Obsessives, which makes perfect sense. While Kitsbow continues to build the world’s best mountain biking apparel, it’s also creating community and an experience around interfacing with the brand. It’s a new approach to selling mountain biking apparel. Breaking into a competitive niche in performance apparel from his first startup – The Coffee Equipment Company – definitely was not the easy road. After selling that first startup company to a small corporation called Starbucks, Nosler went in-house at the Seattle-based coffee juggernaut. Just as soon as he could, he introduced the investors and stakeholders from his first startup to his vision for Kitsbow.
Learn first-hand how this small, Bay-Area startup has a big mission: To redefine what you wear while mountain biking, and how Zander keeps his secret weapon for success — his passion-driven approach to business — front and center. Habit for Success?
Success as an entrepreneur requires a practice – every day, set your mindset and focus on your goals.
“Buy the cheapest, cry as it fails. Buy the best? Cry once!”
If you’re trying to figure out what to do, consider the things that you’re good at, what you love and what people would pay you to do… That’s what I did with both my startups. Without passion in the mix, success is not possible in a start up.
